Wellness check: How is everyone doing? What day is it? How long have we been locked up? Who knows! At this point every day feels like the weekend. By weekend I mean: a lazy weekend where you get nothing accomplished and on Sunday evening, your anxiety kicks in. So yep! That’s how I am doing. It’s fine, everything is fine, we are all fine [cue nervous giggle].
I digress. Despite not knowing what day of the week it is, I do know Mother’s Day is coming up on Sunday, May 10th. Go ahead and put a reminder in your phone because Lord knows we can’t tell the difference between a Sunday and a Tuesday anymore.
So what does this mean for us? This means most of us will be doing online shopping for Mother’s Day this year. Let me start by saying I am the biggest procrastinator of all time. However, due to the current status of the entire world, it will be challenging to last minute shop this year and get your packages on time. I recommend planning ahead. If you are going to order something for the special mother in your life, do it this week!
As of today 4/29/2020, all of the items linked below are currently in stock and available for delivery before Mother’s Day. If you notice an item says out of stock, try checking back! While online shopping over the past month, I have personally found most items I have wanted that said “out of stock” were re-stocked within a few days.
Many of the items linked below are available from Amazon and Nordstrom. I went this route because Amazon Prime offers free shipping as does Nordstrom.com.
The Gift Guide: Shelter-in-Place Edition
1.Barefoot Dreams Blanket
Hands down the softest blanket I own, and I own a lot of blankets! Barefoot Dreams products make the perfect gift and offer a level of luxury that you can’t always find with other blankets. I got my “Leopard Print in the Wild” throw on sale for Christmas. If you are considering purchasing one, I highly recommend waiting until you find it on sale! Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack run sales periodically, especially during their Summer annual sale and during holidays! I’ve also spotted a few for sale on QVC.com over the past few months.

2. House Slippers
I personally am a huge fan of house slippers. There is something to be said for having a pair of shoes that never leave the home. If you or someone you know is very strict about no shoes in the house, house slippers are a great option. They’ll keep your feet toasty without the concern of tracking in germs or dirt.
Unfortunately due to COIVD-19, many of the popular amazon slippers are back ordered until June. However, I have linked one that has rave review as well the UGG brand from Nordstrom. I’ve been wearing the UGG brand since middle school and the brand holds up so well! No joke I have a pair of UGGs my parents gave me for Christmas in the 8th grade and I STILL wear them. As long as you don’t let them get wet, they’ll last forever!

Nordstrom: $99.95 Click Here
3.AirPods Pro: noise cancelling
I swapped out my dingle-dongle headphones (earbuds with the cord) and have never looked back. I initially wanted these for work travel and plane trips (oh the irony!), but I have gotten more use out of them during all of these shelter-in-place shenanigans. They are great for popping on during Zoom calls because they allow you to be mobile but still connected. I actually was on a Zoom call and was able to run down to the basement and still be connected to the call with crisp sound quality. I have also really enjoyed wearing these on my daily walks because it allows me to be hands free listening to music/podcast or talking on the phone. The noise canceling feature is also phenomenal and I can honestly say I don’t think I’ll ever go back to regular headphones.
Disclaimer: the AirPods Pro are more expensive because they are a newer model, have improved shape to prevent slippage out of ear and offer the noise cancelling feature. If you do not care about having the latest model or noise cancelling feature, Target currently has the original AirPods on sale right now! I’ve linked them below.

6.Milk Frother
If you buy one thing that I recommend, this is it! My mother actually bought this months ago (before it started being hyped up on social media). No idea how she found it, but I am so happy she did! It has completely transformed how I drink coffee at home. While I miss my to-go coffee shop lattes, this tool has saved me money and is so easy to use!
Amazon: $20.99 Click Here
7. Cute Mug
The perfect accessory to go along with a new milk frother! Found this adorable mug on Amazon. I am not even a mother and I want it, haha! Does being a fur-mama count?

8. Candle Set
Nothing says stay at home like a cozy candle set! Okay seriously, how cute is this set of candles in the shape of Macaroons?!
I actually recently wrote a post about how to re-wick luxury candle if you have old candles laying around the house.

9. Mini Waffle Maker
This seems like the most versatile, novelty kitchen item ever! Yes the obvious use is for waffle making but have you ever tried putting a single cinnamon roll in a waffle maker?! Yum!
Amazon: $12.87 Click Here (There is also a heart shaped waffle maker available!)
10. Self Tanner
For those of us quarantining in states that may be 70 degrees one day and 35 the next, the struggle is real. We not only now have to worry about gaining the quarantine 19, but also have to worry about coming out of this paler than when we started.
Those who know me well, know that I worked at a tanning salon during grad school. Needless to say, I like to think of myself as a self-tanner connoisseur. St Tropez is the real deal! This brand has been in my self-tanning rotation for the past year and I love the color it gives: bronzed and no orange-tint. QVC currently has an awesome deal right now: Two 8oz bottles and two tanning mitts for $50! Just to put this into perspective, a single 8oz bottle of St. Tropex Classic Mouse from Ulta is currently $42! This is a major sale ya’ll!
QVC: $49.96 Major Sale! Click Here
11. Wine Tumbler
Let’s face it, wine sales have skyrocketed as a result of the current pandemic. Get the lovely lady in your life something that’ll keep her white wine chilled as she roams around the house and backyard. Momma needs a glass after putting up with the husband and children for the past month and a half 😉
Amazon: $22.99 Click Here (available in 25+ colors with over 1,000 reviews!)
12. Slim Can Insulator
I don’t know about ya’ll, but my hard seltzer intake has also increased as of lately. I don’t know if it’s due to the warmer weather or the fact I have nothing else to do. Either way, I am always supportive of a drink that comes in at around 100 calories and has minimal carbs. So by default, I am supportive of any product that is going to keep my drink chilled. This slim can insulator is the same brand as the wine tumbler listed above, BrüMate. Good luck picking a color because I want them all!
Amazon: $22.99 Click Here (available in 25+ colors with over 1,000 reviews!)
